Naples Art and Artis

Naples Florida is an Artsy Kind of Place

Keeping up with a “not to be outdone” tradition, Naples’ art pioneers have woven a tapestry whose artistic fabric virtually covers the community. Culture can be found in every neighborhood of this charming city. Whether your taste runs from classical to avant-garde, from the glittering elegance of an opening night to home town productions, or from Bach to back street jazz it’s all here in our back yard.

The crown jewel in Naples’ is our own answer to Carnagie Hall, The Philharmonic Center for The Performing Arts, now known as Artis. Founded by a local entrepreneur and funded by ongoing gifts from our populace, the Phil (as the locals used to know it) is home to our own Philharmonic Orchestra, the Miami City Ballet, and hosts traveling performances, art exhibits, lecture series’, and a new offering of varied educational opportunities featuring artists and lecturers from across the nation.

The Naples Art Association has blended the talents of local and regional artists and hosts a variety of exhibits around town. Art Shows each “season” are culminated by the “Naples National Arts Festival” in Cambier Park. This festival has been rated as one of the top 24 fine arts and craft shows in the nation and is on “The Harris List” of similar events to prove the point. The United Arts Council is a local agency also promoting the arts through programs to area residents throughout the county. Many art galleries abound in the area and are located on the streets and avenues as well as the shopping centers in the community.

Antique lovers delight in shops and shows throughout the year. The Naples Antique Show and Sale is an annual event hosted by Trinity By the Cove Episcopal Church. Started in 1982, the Show draws fine Antique dealers from all across the nation.
