Collier County is the largest county in total land area in the State of Florida. The vast amount of land and geographic boundaries, either natural or man made, has caused various communities to emerge. Although Collier County can be broken into many different geographic regions, the County Commission district boundaries were used to develop the following community profiles from 2000 U.S. Census data. Persons unfamiliar with Collier County should note that these geographic boundaries were used solely for the purposes of disaggregating data, and should not assume that the communities are entirely self-reliant. While political boundaries exist, a person would have trouble determining official district boundaries upon observation of the area.
