Palm Island Resort

Discover a tropical island retreat on Palm Island

Imagine a tropical island getaway that combines exotic flora and native wildlife with warm gulf breezes and shell-laden beaches. There are no cars, the beaches aren’t crowded and the sunsets are spectacular.

Time stands still at Palm Island Resort, located off Florida’s central west coast due north of Boca Grande. This beautiful resort overlooking the Gulf of Mexico invites guests to stroll along two miles of secluded beach, gathering shells and sharks’ teeth or building giant castles in the soft, white sand. If it’s solitude you crave, simply retire to your own private balcony and drink in the area’s quiet beauty.

Guests arrive on the island by car ferry. Accommodations include a selection of elegantly furnished one, two or three bedroom old-style Florida villas overlooking the gulf. Each luxurious villa is equipped with a full kitchen, living/dining room, laundry facilities and screened porch.

After you’ve finished admiring your accommodations, it’s time to check out the rest of the resort. Though designed to maximize privacy and old-fashioned quality time, there’s still plenty to see and do on Palm Island. Cool off in one of five pools and hydro spas or take part in the many water sports – wind surfing, water bikes, sailing or snorkeling.

There’s bicycling, canoeing and a variety of family and kids’ activities directed by the resort’s recreation department. A championship tennis program features 11 courts, lessons and clinics by the resident professional, along with a complete pro shop. Or visit the Nature Center and learn more about the island’s unique wildlife.

Boaters will find a full service marina, island dockage, charter fishing (the tarpon fishing is legendary) and boat rentals. Numerous golf courses are located nearby.

Each villa’s fully equipped kitchen allows guests to prepare their own meals. Groceries, along with an assortment of clothing and sundries, can be purchased at the General Store. For those days when cooking seems like a chore, treat yourself to a casual lunch, dinner or tropical drink in the Rum Bay Restaurant. The resort’s new specialty restaurant, Johnny Leverock’s Seafood House, overlooks Palm Island’s mainland marina.

Palm Island Resort provides the perfect opportunity to spend some quality family time or enjoy a getaway for two. Splash in the surf, stroll hand in hand along the shore or simply enjoy the slower place that island time offers.
